Sergey Kishchenko (b. 1975, Stavropol) is an artist, whose practice equally encompasses performance, theater, cinema, video art, installation and photo documentation. Considering art as one of cognitive tools, he constructs contemporary mythological environments and studies its attributes as newly interpreted signs of cultural tradition.
His recent projects were demonstrated at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (2020), the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (2019), the 6th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, the Erarta Museum (St. Petersburg, 2015), at the Liberation Continued exhibition in Graz Museum (Austria, 2015).
Kishchenko has been nominated for the Moscow Art Award in the Fine Arts and Architecture category (2020) and entered the short list of the Sergey Kuryokhin Award in the Visual Arts category (2017).
